Michelle Boileau

Mayor Michelle Boileau is the tenth person to serve as Mayor for the City of Timmins, and has served on municipal council since 2018. As Mayor of one of Northern Ontario’s largest cities and biggest regional service hubs, Mayor Boileau understands the importance of investing in the infrastructure and core services that residents, local business, and industry need to prosper.

In her first year in office, she has prioritized public safety by supporting pilot projects for security and outreach, pushed for the expansion of the City’s safety improvement grant, and oversaw the creation of the municipal encampment outreach and response plan. She has led council to record investments in road maintenance, approved modernization projects for Timmins Transit, and finalized Golden Manor redevelopment.

In addition to local appointments on several community boards and committees, Mayor Boileau is the region chair of the Northern Ontario Service Deliverers Association (NOSDA), serves on the board of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) where she chairs the Francophone Municipalities Forum, as well as President of the Association française des municipalités de l’Ontario since 2023; however, she is clear that her most cherished role is being the mother to her six year-old daughter and almost two year-old son.
